At DRIFT, we love recording and editing audio…
Perhaps you’re a composer, songwriter or story-teller who is just not getting the results you want from your ‘laptop’ studio. Perhaps you need music or voice-over for a narrative film, documentary or educational video. Or maybe you’re tired of searching for music or sound effects for your YouTube vids. Whether its composition, arrangement, tracking, Foley, mixing or any other kind of sound design… collaborative discovery of the right audio for the right project is DRIFT’s mission.

Gear List Overview
Drift Studio for the Arts centres its audio activity around a Mac-based, Universal Audio recording system featuring Logic Pro X and LUNA. We listen through Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A MkII Studio Monitors, a Definitive Technologies sub, and record with a variety of Mic’s: Groove Tube, Slate M-1 and ML-2s, Sennheiser 421, Beyer Dynamic, Shure etc…
Some guitars, basses and a drum kit are available if you need ’em and there are a few amp options from Mesa Boogie, Ampeg and Hartke. Samples and soft-synths are controlled by a Roland A-88 weighted key Controller, and of course we have a full spread of UA plugin’s at the ready.
And all the activity takes place in a tuned 14′ X 24′ control room adjoined (through a 7′ X 3′ double-pane window) to a reflection-dampened 24′ X 32′ recording room with 12 foot ceiling height.
